The past couple of years have seen significant demand from QSR (quick service restaurant) operators for prime High Streets, following changes to planning rules in 2020, whereby they can acquire units previously unattainable under the old use classes.
A great example has been our work on Broad Street, Reading where we have secured new leases to Popeyes, Coco di Mama, Zambrero and regeared with Itsu in the past 12 months.
A sign of future trends on our prime High Streets? Perhaps. But it is important to note we received offers from traditional retailers on these units, however the longer leases offered by the QSR market proved attractive to our respective clients.
