Green & Partners celebrate a landmark birthday

How time flies.

It is 30 years since Green & Partners was first established in 1992 as a specialist retail property practice, moving into modest offices in Cavendish Square. In the eye of a turbulent economic backdrop the Partnership was founded by Nick Green, Stephen Cottrell, Nigel Bagge and Chris Lloyd-Jones – and expanded a few months later with the addition of Paul Cooper and Stephen Parker. All were previously employed by Lambert Smith Hampton.

As with any evolving organisation, various people came and went over the next few years but the practice came through the various changes in market conditions while steadily building an enviable client base; assisted in the marketing of the brand throughout the nineties and the early noughties by the “Green & Partners Golf Championship” (in conjunction with Estates Gazette).

Key personnel continued to join, including the arrival of a new investment team led by Equity Partner David Freeman in 2010, who had formerly been head of in-town investment at Colliers.

In more recent times the Partnership has evolved into a younger, dynamic line up of experienced retail experts – Adam Bindman, Mike Willoughby, Ed Smith and Matt Beardall.  Complimented by the two older heads in the form of David Freeman and Stephen Parker, who have been with the practice almost since the beginning.

We have moved three times, most recently in 2021 to new offices in the heart of Soho at 27 Beak Street overlooking Carnaby Street.

We have undertaken more than a few rebrands, recently adopting a modern streamlined image complimentary to the social media era we have entered.   

We live in a fast-moving world, with success in the retail environment built upon experience and the ability to adapt and influence the very many scenarios that come before us in any given market; whether this be investment sales / purchase advice, strategic asset management for shopping centre and high street assets or creative lease restructuring with a professional bias. 

We have been able to draw upon knowledge honed over many years coupled with new ideas borne of active market participation. 

Green & Partners has a proud heritage. No matter how our markets change it remains that clients seek best in class experience alongside knowledgeable and thoughtful advice. A company doesn’t thrive for three decades without these essential attributes.

All being well the Partnership’s founding ethos with valued staff should hopefully see us through the next 30 years and the ever evolving retail environment.

The core standards of well-informed user-friendly Partner led advice remain as true to today as they did all those years ago.
