Freddie King has successfully passed his Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) to become a chartered surveyor.
After completing his master’s degree in Real Estate at the University of Reading, Freddie joined Green & Partners in August 2019 as a graduate surveyor in the Lease Advisory team representing Landlords and Occupiers of retail and office property. In the last two years he has gained extensive experience in rent reviews, lease renewals and lease re-gears, particularly in the wake of the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and the new use Class E on the retail landscape. Freddie has also assisted one of the Partners, Darren Coleman, on completing over 80 office space lease acquisitions across the North-East, Norfolk, Essex and Kent.
Stephen Parker, equity partner at Green & Partners, said: “Congratulations to Freddie on passing his APC. We’ve seen a great amount of change in the retail sector in the last two years and Freddie has taken it all in his stride by adapting and working closely with the partners. It has not been an easy time to be studying for his APC and he fully deserved to pass and achieve chartered status. We are all delighted for him and look forward to celebrating his success.”
Freddie said: “It’s been an interesting period to be a graduate surveyor. Working remotely for a large part of the last two years has created some challenges; however, the partners and team at Green & Partners have supported me at every stage of my APC. It’s a key milestone in the development of my professional career and I’m thrilled to have passed.”
Darren Coleman, partner at Green & Partners, said: “Freddie has been invaluable assistance in the last year working with me to secure office space in 85 different locations against a relatively tight deadline. His calm attitude in the face of such a large requirement was testament to his ability to quickly grasp the fine details of each instruction and find a solution using his growing network of contacts.”
Freddie is now a qualified Chartered Surveyor and member of the RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) and will take up a full-time position within the Lease Advisory team based in Green & Partners’ central London office.
